congregation israel reformed synagogue here in the chicago area, and we will come and talk shortly to rabbi bronstein, who does a wonderful job on our dimensional triangle. but what i did is i just - i wanted to take a bible, and i picked up one of the psalms. the psalms, in many cases, are, well, they're songs about the great mythic tradition. and i just picked one psalm, i think it's 139, unless it's 136, but it's right in the 130s, and i'm just going to read it, and listen for how the creation myths, the liberation myth or exodus myth, and then the sinai myth are encapsulated in this. and then you can kind of imagine david perhaps - king david sitting around playing his lyre after the goats are milked or whatever they did back there or the figs are eaten, and he's singing the mythic drama, and people are sitting around the campfire, and they're listening, and it's undergirding or underscoring their sense of identity, who they are, and relationship, but it also has heroes and powerful acts and all this stuff in it. so let's go to the roll-in with the psalm that contains those three

tried to stop israel from building settlements on the west bank because they understood that threatened to fore close the possibility of a two-state solution. some presidents pushed hard, some not very hard. at camp david, jimmy carter believed he received assurances that settlement building would stop and that a process leading to palestinian self-determination and atonmy on the west bank would commence, but settlement building did not stop, and both carter and the egyptians, for different reasons, did not make much of a fuss. reagan called for a settlement freeze without making an issue of it. george hw bush made a big issue of it and paid a steep political prize, which may have caused him re-election. bill clinton wanted very much a viable palestinian state, and he found settlement building continued whether israel was headed by labor and accelerated throughout the 1990s. barack obama made a settlement freeze jumping off point for his peace efforts and smacked down decisively from benjamin netanyahu and the israel lobby. the reason for these failures is over. israel, no ma

here. it's truly amazing. i came over from israel, i studied -- [inaudible] and my question regarding my region and the field we just doesed -- discussing here. i was wondering what your administration was trying to solve the crisis of natural gas between israel and egypt. and the joinlt projects of energy resources in the middle east between israel and jordan. does that come to play with something you said. >> another excellent question. three home run questions from three freshmen.
